Background & Education

In 2014, Ms. Sintjago completed her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. She focused her legal education on immigration and human rights issues. During law school she served as Vice President of the Asylum Law Project and represented immigration clients as a student attorney and student director in the law school’s Immigration and Human Rights Clinic. She spent a summer volunteering on women’s human rights at the Advocates for Human Rights in Minneapolis and represented the law school at the regional rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition. She also interned for the pro-bono department of a large law firm in Minneapolis, where she focused on preparing U visa applications for victims of crimes.

After obtaining her law degree, Ms. Sintjago helped Spanish and English speaking clients obtain U-visas and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and advised clients on consular processing for relatives in Mexico who had been granted U.S. visas.
